They are two incredibly talented individuals who share my own passion for food, flowers, art and design. We always welcome the opportunity to work outside of NYC. This year we traveled to the Caribbean, Europe, California and all over the Northeast. I first met Chris and Katie Humphreys in LA earlier this year. We were doing an event in downtown Los Angeles and they photographed every detail. They are not only fantastic to work with but they also do beautiful work. Chris and Katie enjoy traveling and working on destination weddings just as much as we do. We worked together again in Greenwich, CT several months after meeting in California. Here are some of the beautiful images they provided of our work at the CT wedding. It was a beautiful garden setting and a perfect summer day. I can’t believe how amazing those yellow tree peonies were!! They were huge and lush…incredible! The bride and groom are both crazy cheese lovers and they are not fans of wedding cake. Our solution…amazing cheese stacked to look like a wedding cake and embellished with fresh orchids…again, just like a wedding cake! I even gave the “cake” a lift with a beautiful, dark wood pedestal. I thought the cheese was such a great solution and obviously a perfect ending to any lovely meal. If you aren’t big on sweets consider a fabulous cheese selection for dessert or your wedding cake!

Texture was also very important in all of the floral arrangements. There were many succulents, vines and seed pods along with fabulous orchids and other exotic accents. These are only details. We will soon post a beautiful gallery on our site in the event portfolio and we will also feature more images on the blog. I hope to write a bit about the bride and her amazing guests. She is so cool and had the most incredible special guest/family member who walked her down the aisle and performed at the wedding…more details later!

Unfortunately, the fabulous Kimmy Harman is no longer working for Artfool. She recently decided to return to her beautiful home in Utah. We will miss her bright, happy spirit and her dedication to taking great care of our wonderful clients. I must personally say thank you Kimmy for opening my eyes to what a really fabulous assistant can do for an office and company!! She joined our team as my assistant and very quickly became so much more. Her commitment to the job, talent for effortlessly working with people and her great eye for putting the finishing touches on any event all make Kimmy a true gem. 

We wish you all the best and continued success in Utah. Park City is very lucky to have you!! Always remember NYC is here for you!! We miss you!!

One of our wonderful clients is giving these classics away as her favor this coming weekend and both of us realized we have never stopped to give the NY favorites a real try. So, we started to sample black and whites from all over the city trying to find the best of the best.  We took the advice of many online reviews and tried William Greenberg Jr. Desserts on the Upper East Side. (http://wmgreenbergdesserts.com) These little beauties won our hearts and turned us into Black and White cookie lovers!!!  The cookie like base has the perfect amount of cake texture and the frosting is to die for! Try them out if you haven’t already!!!

Anyone that knows our studio or our work is familiar with my collection of vintage containers. I find so much inspiration in unique objects and vessels to hold centerpieces and various other arrangements. I’m always looking for a fabulous new vase, glass, pitcher, bowl or compote.

Vintage silver is one of my absolute favorite things to work with. It can be classic & elegant or extremely funky & eclectic depending on the setting & the flowers. I often use tarnished silver for an even more dramatic, vintage look.

Here are some amazing images from photographer Roey Yohai taken at one of our events in NYC. Roey really captured the amazing details in the vintage silver along with the unique shapes & silhouettes featured in these wonderful vessels.

We recently decided to feature these gorgeous little hand blown votives out of Seattle. We were waiting for the perfect event for glassbaby & it finally arrived! We used them as part of the table & room decor for a beautiful event last weekend at the Four Season Restaurant and they were the talk of the party. They come in every color under the sun and have the most charming names (i.e. first kiss, tutu, hidden moss and prom dress). They are perfect little vases if you need a small vessel, but the real magic comes when they are illuminated. They have a magical glow that really brings the array of splendid colors to life. It is always such a treat to discover a wonderful new product that adds so much to an event.
